The Itinerary and Key Details
Checking In and Gearing Up
When you join us for the Discovery, you'll be checking it Olowalu at 7:45am. This departure time has been carefully chosen by us to avoid any crowds from other activities as well as make it a relaxing morning for our guests, all while still getting on the water early enough to have a phenomenal experience.
Once you arrive and park your car, simply walk over to our guides and they'll get you checked in and geared up.
Before each trip we do a comprehensive safety and instructional briefing that will bring even a total ocean novice completely up to speed on what they need to know to have a great day.

- Proper launching and landing techniques for the kayaks
- Tips on easily entering/exiting the ocean directly from the kayaks
- General ocean safety as it is applicable to our adventures
- Group organization of the kayaks during snorkeling stops and beach landings.
- Paddling and snorkeling instruction, as needed
Oh, and one final note...
No previous kayaking or snorkeling experience is required!
Down and Distance
Over the course of the 3 hours on Discovery, we'll be padding several miles or roughly 1 hour of cumulative paddling that is broken up into small chunks.
In terms of snorkeling, we'll hit two fantastic locations that feature everything from underwater sea caves and tons of sea turtles, all the way to whales*, dolphins** and of course an amazing variety of colorful, friendly and fun tropical fish all within arms reach.
All through the trip the guide will be assisting the group as much as possible. From hooking all the kayaks together at snorkeling stops, to assisting guests with their masks and fins, it's first class service all the way through.
Everyone who wants to gets in the water and is free to snorkel on their own if they so desire.
The most fun will be had if you stay close to our guides in the water, as they'll be pointing out unique marine life, snapping underwater digital photos, and leading the way to the best regions along each reef.
Anybody Hungry?
Food. It's an essential element to any activity requiring physical exertion.
All of our trips depart from beach parks, stay on the water for their entire duration and usually cover some unique and inordinate terrain areas. This all combines to make environmentally friendly food service a challenge for sure.
To that end, we've exclusively partnered with a premier, owner operated catering company to provide complete beach lunches*** for our customers. Whether you love vegetarian**** or meat is more your thing,
we've got you covered. Both selections are individually prepared and packaged each morning to ensure freshness and quality when it's time to eat.
Our lunch selections are beach style, of a light to moderate quantity and provided complimentary by Maui Eco Tours. On all of our adventures we recommend that "big eaters" pack some additional rations if they are so inclined. In addition, we also request that all of our guests bring a bottle of water for themselves, as hydration is always an important element to a fun day here on Maui.
What a wonderful way to finish a five star kayaking snorkeling experience.
- Things of note
- * Whale sightings are during the Winter season of December - April, and are frequent but not guaranteed.
- ** We are unable to guarantee the exact marine life that will be seen on any given day or tour.
- *** Due to space limitations, our lunch portions are on the smaller side.
