Guided Kayak & Snorkel Tour in Makena Bay – Turtle Reef Discovery
This tour is the crown jewel of our ocean adventures. We launch early in the morning from Makena Landing, when the ocean is calmest and wildlife is most active. Paddle past lava cliffs and snorkel in pristine reef zones filled with vibrant fish, coral, and honu (sea turtles).

Amazing Under the Sea Experience!
Maui Eco Tours offers an incredible kayak and snorkel tour experience. My family had an amazing time out on the water with our guide Jake. Absolutely fabulous! Jake was extremely personable and knowledgeable, and after getting us situated with gear and instructions, he made us feel at ease navigating our kayaks and hitting the water with our snorkels. Not a small feat for a couple more anxious people in our party. He took time to make sure our gear was always properly fitted and that we were comfortable. His island knowledge and stories are wonderful. It was recommended that we book the early 7 AM tour for best water conditions, less sun, optimal visibility and more chances to see some jaw-dropping sea life. This hit on every mark. We were delighted by sea turtles, slate pencil urchins, star fish, an array of colorful local fish, an eel, and wait for it…even an octopus. This was all thanks to Jake. He truly is some kind of an ocean whisperer. We made some great memories on this tour, and got some amazing pictures. Worth it! Jake also gave us some phenomenal local restaurant and site recommendations to check out while on Maui. I would highly recommend this tour, and would do it again and again. We originally had a Molokini Crater snorkeling tour booked, but after hearing rave reviews from my aunt and uncle—who had just returned from Maui—we decided to switch to Maui Eco Tours. Best decision ever! Our tour guide, Jake, was incredible! It ended up being a super small group, just my boyfriend, me, and two others, which made the experience even more personal and special. We saw at least 10 sea turtles, several different types of fish and sea urchins, and even a snowflake eel! Jake was not only super friendly and knowledgeable, but also went above and beyond by taking over 200 photos for us and giving great recommendations for local restaurants and hikes. We had taken an Uber to the meeting spot, and Jake even offered us a ride back afterward, such a genuinely awesome guy and guide.
